I take great care in making sure the patient is well informed about the procedure that they are considering, including reviewing alternative treatments. I believe that it is important to present the possible risks of all procedures so that the patient can make an informed decision. If a patient is well informed, I have found they are more satisfied with their results because they understood their procedure and expectations.
I am board certified in plastic surgery and have undergone extensive training in plastic, cosmetic, reconstructive and hand surgery. I extended my training by two years to receive fellowships in hand/microvascular surgery and burns. I also trained at Manhatten Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York, one of the busiest cosmetic surgery hospitals in the world. I have been featured on the popular TLC program "A Personal Story." One of my patients graces the home page of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is featured in their national print ad campaign.

Dr. Roger Bassin is one of a handful of highly trained surgeons in the country trained in his unique specialty. Dr. Bassin graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and was accepted into the George Washington University medical school as part of their Early Selection program. After finishing his medical education, Dr. Bassin completed his internship at New York’s Lennox Hill Hospital and a residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
Following his training in New York City, Dr. Bassin further trained in eyelid and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago under the preceptorship of Dr. Allen Putterman, M.D., a pioneer in the field of eyelid and facial plastic surgery. During this time, Dr. Bassin also received liposuction training with some of Chicago’s most renowned plastic surgeons. Dr. Bassin is an eyelid and facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, his fellowship training approved by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Bassin is Board Certified.
He limits his practice to eyelid and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as body liposuction. Apart from repeatedly serving as an expert witness, Dr. Bassin has devoted a significant portion of his practice to the repair of many “botched” surgeries commonly seen around the eyes.
Dr. Bassin has helped to pioneer many of the “invisible incision” techniques that are the future of aesthetic facial plastic surgery, and as such, has been featured in many local and national media for his novel approach and unique training. It is Dr. Bassin’s mission to provide the most natural looking result, so as to provide an “unoperated “ appearance. Patient phone numbers are provided to patients who are curious as to what their experience will be, and Dr. Bassin encourages all of his patients to converse with previous patients, to provide maximum comfort in their decision making process. Dr. Bassin is also extensively published in his field of expertise, and has presented much of his research at national medical conferences.
